Ever wished you could watch a match that wasn't shown on Sky or ESPN? Well 6 years ago an Argyle fan thought the same thing and set up a subscription website to manage all the free internet streamed games into one place.
http://www.livefootball.net have access to every Premiership game being played, as well as every Champions League game, every game from the Europa League featuring British sides, all Home Nation Internationals, and selected games from the FA Cup, Carling Cup, SPL, Serie A, Bundesliga, La Liga, and Football League for £7.95 a year. And all by an Argyle fan. Do you think he could invest in the team?

Argyle's New World
The brand "New World" has been rolled out at Home Park at the start of the new season to mark the new regime's presence at the helm of the good ship Mayflower.
The dawn of New World encompasses a host of initiatives including:
- the introduction of barcoded tickets for the home turnstiles. Season Tickets and matchday tickets now come complete with a barcode that is scanned by the turnstile operator, the information is then sent to the box office to confirm the ticket's validity. Hopefully this scheme has been tested with more than 5 people attempting to enter at the same day, or we'll be seeing long queues well after kick off next week.
- a new corporate entertainment venue. Aside from the Pyramid Suite, Executive boxes, Argyle Lounge and the Chisholm lounge, the executive boxes in the East end of the grandstand have been ripped out and replaced by the new Business Club where guests can watch the game from the comfort of never having to mingle with the masses and their prawn sandwiches will be freshly delivered from Ginsters.
- matchday 'mix and mingle'. Players not included in the team can no longer sit back at the rear of the grandstand, they must turn up suited and booted and be prepared to meet the fans including informal chats and autograph signings in the superstore, giving speeches in the corporate hospitality suites and keeping the fore-mentioned business clients happy.
- the subtle rebranding of the online superstore to Argyle Direct.
- the football specials.
Some good initiatives there but let's hope they're not just putting a cherry on a turd and the new regime has a bit more substance.

Keep Sunday Special
The Argyle Superstore (Home Park) will no longer be open on Sundays, however Centre Spot (Drake Circus) will be open as usual.
Match tickets are currently being handled by the superstore on non matchdays, however Argyle have not stated whether the Box Office will also be closing. Tickets are still on sale at Centre Spot or via e-ticketing.

Funny, but Come On
Argyle's latest PR campaign is to produce a poster for each home game which is downloadable from the official website for supporters to print.
The Nottingham Forest effort:
Which admittedly is quite funny, but come sweetie darling, on what sort of PR is this? A few posters are going to encourage the missing thousands? Even Eddie Monsoon could do better than that!

Official Site Make Over
The official Argyle site is currently undergoing a make over with the appearance of several new sections such as Captain's Blog (but who will write it?), information about Argyle's past campaigns, history, kits, statistics and ex-players. In addition it appears that ground tours will become a new revenue stream with an as yet to be filled section has appeared.

Demise of a Fanzine
In the modern world of the internet, there seems little room for hard copies. Why print something for money when it can be reproduced on screen for virtually nothing and be seen world-wide?
This has led to the demise of the Argyle fanzine "Rub of the Greens", which folded yesterday following the dwindling number of subscribers. Having only subscribed myself this coming season, I have not had the pleasure of reading it, but several fellow supporters have enjoyed its 90 editions (plus 5 specials).
It has to be said though that Plymouth Argyle supporters enjoy what must be an unrivaled choice in access to information about their team through the plethora of quality internet sites - from the official site run by premium TV, though 5 message boards, Green on Screen (which recently amalgamated with Semper Viridis - and contains a photographic archive of each season's matches and statistics galore), to various other fan run and news pages. Add to that three regional and local newspapers.
However, as yet another fan-run aspect of Argyle dies (along with the Travel Club, Far Post Club, and PAST&D Trust), it is sad that supporters are in some way becoming disconnected from the clubs they love.

Greens on Screen & Semper Viridis
Today Steve and Trevor announced that Greens on Screen and Semper Viridis have amalgamated and one of the best unofficial club sites has now become even better.
You will find the new look site (which, understandably, is still under revelopment) at www.greensonscreen.co.uk
and at the same time, I have decided to bring forward the revamp of this blog by introducing a new layout.

New Look
Premium TV, the owners of the majority of league club's official pages, are slowly revamping each clubs website and this morning the new look Argyle site has gone live.
Although confusing to start with, especially the busy-ness of all the adverts, and the extra clicks needed to get to the data; the amount of information provided has increased, is more logically located and there are some new sections. It is still under construction, meaning some sections are not available yet, it remains to be seen whether this incarnation will be kept updated.

Supporters' Forums
As well as the usual PASOTI and Rub of the Greens message boards, a new board was opened at the beginning of this year at www.pafctalk.co.uk. This board has been dead for some time, however a few Greens have recently signed up in an attempt to try and get it going again. So if you fancy somewhere that's a bit lighter than PASOTI or RotG, then join us and sign up.
